About Me

Welcome to my profile page. If you are thinking about coming to see a therapist, you may be feeling unhappy, anxious, or sad. You might be experiencing relationship or family difficulties, suffering from work-related stress, trauma or domestic abuse or living with low self-esteem. Together, we can find a more meaningful way of living.

I am an experienced psychotherapist and have worked with a wide range of clients both within and outside of the NHS (including Primary Care and IAPT). Being accredited by the BACP means I have achieved high standards in my work as an independent, ethical, and competent therapist. With over 15 years of experience in various therapy roles, including private practice, I offer a non-judgemental space tailored to what you need.

My Approach

I work relationally, which means I place a very strong emphasis on the importance of the therapeutic relationship I build with my clients. I believe it is this core relationship that enables safe and lasting change to happen. This relational focus allows me to think deeply with you about the connection between past experiences and the present-day difficulties you are currently facing.

In practice this works through:

  • Exploring how past relational dynamics in your family or other significant relationships, influence current behavioural patterns and connections.
  • Reflecting on unconscious processes and deeper roots of emotional difficulties.
  • Focussing on developing a sense of self – through grounding and regulating and developing self compassion.

I aim to work at your pace, taking the time to really understand what is happening for you, so we can collaboratively think about what you need. I offer both open ended and time limited therapy depending on what is most appropriate for you.

What to Expect

Therapy sessions are 50 minutes long and generally take place at the same time each week. I offer a free initial phone call so you can get an idea of what I might be like as a therapist, ask any questions you have, and clarify any concerns before deciding whether you want to go ahead.

Our first appointment is an opportunity for me to find out more about you and see how I might best help you, ensuring you feel entirely comfortable working with me. I work with clients Monday to Thursday, face-to-face from my therapy room in Leeds city centre as well as online via Zoom or Teams.

Clinical Supervision

In addition to client work, I am a qualified Clinical Supervisor offering a reflective, containing space to trainee and qualified therapists, as well as organisations or individuals working in intense helping, supporting, or safeguarding roles. I provide a supportive space to help practitioners gently challenge themselves, stay curious about the impact of their work, practice safely and ethically and ultimately flourish as a practitioner.
